BIO

JIMMY CYPHER is best known for his enigmatic guitar work, as well as his fiery live performances. Stylistically, Cypher embraces everything from Tom Morello, David Gilmour (Pink Floyd), The Edge (U2), Eddie Van Halen, Carlos Santana and Paco de Lucia. This wide vocabulary of guitar styles typically finds its home in what at first seems an unlikely place -- cutting edge electronic dance music. Progressive House, Breakbeat, and Techno combine with guitar in what might be described as "rock meets electronica" or "Van Halen versus Prodigy." The result is a groove-oriented sound like no other that achieves what many strive for but few achieve: a style that literally defies categorization. The highly anticipated debut album features stellar guest vocal and instrumental talent of local, national and international calibre. Live shows feature continuous remixes in club settings and venues normally reserved for DJs and are known for "putting the crowds on lockdown" [Creative Loafing].

Jimmy's most influential guitar mentor is DOUG DOPPLER -- who was himself taught by JOE SATRIANI and whose album "Nu Instrumental" is available on STEVE VAI's Favored Nations label. These days, CYPHER is an established guitar instructor and clinician who is known for his unorthodox and highly effective techniques in helping guitarists to find their own voice on the instrument. He has been featured in Creative Loafing (Atlanta), The Atlanta Journal and Constitution and the prestigious Camp Jam Master Class summer workshops (featured in PEOPLE magazine, ABC NEWS and CNN), and This House Rocks (founded by JEFF CARLISI of .38 SPECIAL).
